About me

Otters are my Passion

Brian J Boyes LRPS & SINWP is a Bunessan based wildlife photographer. He was trained by Durham Constabulary as a Crime Scene Photographer and since retiring from the Police Service in 2012 he has become a multi award winning photographer.

He is a member of the Royal Photographic Society and the Society for International Nature & Wildlife Photographers where he has achieved Licentiate awards in both Societies. Some of his work has been published in National Newspapers and the RPS Nature magazine.

He has recently become the Production Editor for the Royal Photographic Society Nature magazine the “Iris”.

Brian is in the fortunate position where he helps to raise money for Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance with his otter photographic workshops and by selling otter calendars and postcards. Over the past three years he has raised nearly £4000.

From the outset Brian is very Professional and Friendly issuing you with well prepared briefing material and discussing the well being of the otters as the main priority before going anywhere. The cost is very reasonable, even more so when you consider that a sizable proportion is donated to charity. Its obviously not about the money for Brian.

I was incredibly happy to be able to see and photograph otters up close. Brian is highly knowledgable, and taught me so much about their behaviour and what to look out for. He even went out of his way to show me a White-Tailed Eagle nest on the way home. I had a fantastic time and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in otters and wildlife.
